How to put down your phone, do better work in less time and not lose clients or friends!

Addicted to your phone? In my 18 minute podcast I share my best strategies for learning how to turn off your phone, do better work with better results (in less time!) and not lose clients or friends! Seriously, who couldn't use a bit of help trying to figure THIS out?? Please share with colleagues or friends who could use some help with this, you will both be happy you did. Thank you!

Alert! I have strong opinions on this subject so watch out for my Tough Love, no bullshit advice! If you really really want to figure out how to stop checking your phone all the time, this IS the podcast for you. Trust me though- I promise my strategy works. In this podcast I share all my client’s excuses and reasons why they can’t turn their phones off so you feel a sense of camaraderie with these folks! If they can do it you can too!

This podcast is not promoting a specific methodology or certain app to put on your phone. Rather, I share the practical ideas that have worked for my clients and what works for me so that maybe you can get the confidence to just try something. And maybe if that first step works well for you, then you can start implementing more things. Because that’s the thing. If I don’t give my client something that’s practical, it’s not going work. So I can’t give them some blanket methodology that hundreds of millions of Americans have used before, I have to recommend ideas that are custom for their lifestyle and their energy level right now. The ideas I share in this podcast are the same ideas that work for my clients and myself right now.

In this podcast you will hear my simple strategy for helping you make a mental mindshift to be ok with not looking at your phone all the time at work, in the car, at night and on the weekends and when you are with friends! This idea really works to give you permission to turn off your phone for periods of time!

So many of my clients, whether they are corporate professionals or freelancers, cannot seem to put their phone away for even 30 minutes. They are afraid to be unavailable to their coworkers or clients for even a short period of time so they keep their phones next to them and “on” all the time. This practice becomes very disruptive to your ability to do good work because your brain is constantly being interrupted. We all know that there are many studies done over the years that prove that taking your eyes off a task, even for a brief moment to look at your phone, disrupts your cognitive flow for many many minutes, not just seconds!

In my podcast I share stories of how clients were being overwhelmed with so many common distractions, notifications, interruptions every single day and how we worked out a solution! If you have trouble figuring out how to not answer work emails and texts from your boss, listen to my podcast What to do if your boss gives you too much to do.

Please listen to this podcast to learn all about how you can shift your mind to accept the concept of not checking your phone all the time. I give you straight forward tips on how to make it easier to make the change.

If you are a freelancer or business owner and you need MORE convincing that putting down your phone is a good idea please listen to my podcast for entrepreneurs about how to be less available without losing clients.

As always, I want you to know you are not alone in trying to figure this out. You have me, my client’s stories, my strategy and my optimism #inyourbackpocket.
