How to effectively communicate and not waste time

How many times do you come back from a meeting and find out you really were not on the same page about timelines or expectations with the people in the meeting? Have you ever been on a group email chain only to get to the end and everyone is more confused about what needs to be done and by whom? Do you ever communicate with your partner or children about what you are going to be doing, only to have to repeat yourself about 100 times with the same information? I know how valuable everyone's time is and I have been in these situations far too often. That's why I designed a simple solution that works! In this week's short video I make sure you know how to effectively communicate and not waste time ever again!

With my 6 simple steps, you will never waste anyone's (not just yours) valuable time and energy explaining, reiterating or heaven forbid, correcting miscommunication again. In business, the biggest time suck and biggest frustration with employees and bosses alike is the LACK of communication. And the lack of effective communication is really a waste of our most limited resources- time, energy and money. It costs our business money when any person in our organization-boss or team member- spends time clarifying, revisiting the facts already decided upon and asking for information already discussed.

"The biggest problem with communication is the illusion that it has taken place." George Bernhard Shaw said. No KIDDING. George must have had a camera inside a few corporate meetings!

It is so easy to believe everyone is clear about their roles and responsibilities only to get back to your office and have questions keep popping up about all the items you believed were covered.

This unproductive and frustrating lack of communication can happen in group emails, meetings with only two people, phone calls, and certainly with group meetings where many expectations and decisions are being made, agreed upon and then action assumed to take place.

It is a fact that we are all so busy and we have so much going on that we often bring our devices into meetings and we don't always pay full attention to what is being said. That creates issues in the collaboration of ideas and gathering a true consensus around the important details.

In my video I give you 6 very easy and practical strategies to put into regular practice every time you discuss, email or meet with anyone and need to get a consensus about dates, timelines, deadlines and responsibilities. These 6 steps really work to make your life so much easier. In fact, they will make everyone in your world (private life too!) more effective by not having to answer a million times that famously annoying question "what are we doing again?".

I have created my Simple Tools for this video as a one page PDF with all the 6 steps listed for you to refer to any time you need a reminder of how to effectively communicate and not waste time. These Simple Tools are just .99 for you to have as an easy reminder to Communicating Effectively.
