Thanksgiving gratitude and giving with a new tradition

We pledge ourselves to liberate all our people from the continuing bondage of poverty, deprivation, suffering, gender and other discrimination.
— Nelson Mandela

This Thanksgiving, as we gather with our loved ones together safely to spend time together, we have so much to be thankful for. While those very close to me have experienced terrible losses just this month, I am going to find time for Thanksgiving gratitude and giving with a new tradition with Seth Godin's Thanksgiving Reader. As usual, Seth offers a thoughtful way to begin a new tradition of storytelling and sharing traditions in a world filled with chaos.

Whether your world is small right now as you celebrate and share a meal with just a few or you share your table with a mighty group of friends and family, please think about the world around us- this is a time for reflection and gratitude. Certainly, everyone has their own traditions for Thanksgiving. My hope is we all start slowing down, talk about what is really happening in our lives and sharing our stories. If we can slow down and not be busy, feel busy or make our guests sense our busyness- we have accomplished something good. May slowing down and talking truthfully be your blessing this weekend.

As usual, the thoughtfulness of Seth Godin has inspired him to create a new concept for gatherings at Thanksgiving. I am sharing Seth's Thanksgiving Reader with you because I believe this year in particular those of us with family, safe at our table, safe in our home, are certainly part of a privileged group.

Of course, your Thanksgiving traditions are yours to behold, begin, carry on and enjoy.

May you all have a peace filled, warm and wonderful holiday.

Thankfully,

Kathy
